I forgot to tell you guys about my decent day ignoring the fact that you probably do not gives a rat’s patoot about it.
My brother started school today. Everyone was in a decent mood today. The kid’s in fourth grade now. This was the first moment that caused me to realize that I’m aging. After we sent him on his way on the (super late) school bus, I got ready for the day; my hair was looking real right today. I was proud. I’m getting better at this hair maintenance thing. Left out, met Marcus at his house, hung out for a couple of hours (i.e. I dozed off while I watched him play smash melee and then he almost locked me in his basement), then we left to get the burgers we’d been craving for days. Took the train to Belmont, which is now my favorite red line stop. Felt sick the entire ride. Might have been the reading I was doing while the train was moving slowly, as that tends to make me nauseated.
Today was the day I decided I want to live on the north side, specifically in Lakeview, preferably around Boystown. I love it. Everywhere we went, I was like, I belong. First we went to this place appropriately named Indie Burger. ORGANIC BURGERS AND STUFF AND INDIE MUSIC GALORE. The guys who worked there were pretty friendly, there were posters and flyers galore, awesome music selection, and the food was pretty tasty. The chairs were made out of recycled pop bottles, and the booths were “church pews from the south side.” It was fantastic, but pretty expensive. A burger, fries, and a bottle of ginger ale was about 16 bucks. When I get a job, I will be there all the time. Then we went shopping and stuff. Games, movies, comic book store and The Alley, which we have affectionately nicknamed Hipster Hot Topic. I had all the fun, but I was pooped and still felt a bit queazy. Then, Marcus wouldn’t let me go into the store I like, the store which prompted the creation of the name Freaky Smurf by my bff. Leaving that where it is..
Got back on the train, went to McDonalds and split some nuggets and juice. Chilled for about an hour and a half, then he walked me to the train, on which I promptly went to sleep. On the way there, we discussed birthday plans, and aging-moment number two happened, because I realized I’ll be old enough to legally get wasted. That both excites and scares me. Eventually, my queazys went away, and the day altogether was pretty dope. This is officially my end of the summer post. It’s been fun.
Also, can anyone give me a quick review of Before Watchmen? It intrigues me. Also, someone get me Walking Dead for Christmas. All of it. Or maybe the first half. Or. The first few. And/or Scott Pilgrim (the series or the movie). Yeah.
